Shropshire Driveway Options

If you are looking for a drive renovation, there are several options available.

Whether you are looking for a brand new drive, or extending an existing drive to accommodate additional vehicles, we can offer a solution that meets your needs and your budget.

The options available for your driveway are are:

Telford Paving
1. Gravel

The quickest and by far the cheapest option is gravel which is available in numerous colours and grades.

If gravel is installed, we recommend installing a good quality geotextile under the gravel for weed control.

2. Tarmac / Patterned Concrete

Sorry but we do not offer tarmac or imprinted concrete design drives ourselves. Both of these look good once installed but unfortunately there are long term maintenance issues with both of these surfaces.

The top layer of tarmac can disintegrate within a couple of years, and we have seen imprinted concrete drives with cracks appearing in under one year.

In addition if the surface is damaged or an oil spill occurs, then in both cases areas of the drive will need to be cut out and resurfaced and the drive will never look the same.

3. Heavy duty paving slabs

Another option is to use heavy duty paving slabs but a minimum slab depth of 50mm is required for vehicular use.

This is not a pretty option and per square metre is more expensive than block paving or setts but the option is there if you prefer it.

4. Block Paving

Driveway block paving is currently the most popular driveway solution. It is cost effective and low maintenance. Unlike tarmac or concrete, you have a choice of styles, colours and patterns.

If the drive does get damaged or you get an oil spill, the damaged driveway blocks can be taken up and replaced in a matter of minutes.

5. Setts

If you want more of a traditional look than standard driveway block paving offers then another option is to use driveway setts.

Block paviors are a single standard size of 200mm x 1000mm and are used extensively on modern residential developments.

If you are looking for a more traditional look, then setts are available in different sizes and colours.

We have used setts extensively on period and listed properties in Telford, Shrewsbury and the rest of Shropshire where the aesthetics of materials are of prime importance.

Costs

Costs will vary depending on your chosen material and the size of your drive. We are not the cheapest driveway contractor in Shropshire but unlike some of our competitors, we have never had to relay a drive.

We take a little longer to ensure the job is done right the first time every time so that when we leave, you have nothing to do.
