Timber Pergolas Pergolas are used to provide some shelter over seating areas and create focal areas within the garden. We can erect quality custom built pergolas to fit the area required. Pergolas can be any shape required including square, rectangular, L-shaped, or can be made to cover a long pathed area. Alternatively if your budget is limited we can erect ready-made kits, that are available in standard sizes. We only use solid 4x4 timber uprights and 4x2 cross pieces to ensure strength and stability. All posts are erected in a minimum of 18" of concrete to ensure stability. Timber is usually tanalised and so treatment is not necessary but if you require colour we can treat the pergola following installation. Beds can be created around the base of the pergola posts and climbing plants such as clematis, honeysuckle or jasmine can be planted and trained up the pergola providing a beautiful show of colour. Timber and Steel Arches Strategically sited arches used in conjunction with decorative fencing creates 'outdoor rooms' adding interest and creating movement within a garden. We can erect custom-built timber arches or alternatively have a wide range of timber and steel arches to match the style and size of your garden. Again beds can be created around the base of the arch and climbers planted to provide colour around the arch.
