Contemporary Garden, Shropshire

The Brief

To create a low maintenance contemporary garden with areas for seating/entertaining and increase the appearance of the size of the garden.

Our Solution

This garden was heavily overgrown so the first task was to remove some of the trees and larger shrubs to create more space

The garden was very flat so to give it a third dimension the design incorporated a raised secondary raised patio and raised beds. To create a natural contemporary feel, tanalised sleepers was the predominant material used to create this effect.

The raised area was installed at a 45 degree angle to the house and conservatory so that attention is drawn away from the sqaure sides of the garden.

Bradstone Yorkstone paving was used for the main patio and the raised patio and paths.

Formal architectural planting of cordyline, phormium, monkey-puzzle and bamboo completed the makeover.

This is an excellent example of the transformation that can be achieved in a small garden with the right use of materials.
