The Brief
From a blank canvas, we were asked to work inassociation with a garden designer to create a low maintenance garden with a feature Koi pond and waterfall.
Our Solution
Once the surface material was cleared, we started by digging the pond. There was no access for a mini-digger so the pond had to be dug by hand down to a depth of 5', to accommodate fully grown Tench and Koi Carp.
Some of the spoil was used to build a feature waterfall which was fed by a specialist pump and filtration system inslatted by ourselves.
Sandstone rockery stone was used as a perimeter to the pond and to build the waterfall and a sandstone bridge was built to connect the main pond with a shallower pond. We also used sandstone paving to build a small step and sandstone block to build a natural stone seating area next to the pond.
An oriental style pergola was built over the edge of the smaller pond and we also built a bespoke wheelie bin hide from split bamboo and bamboo screening to match the oriental theme.
This is one of our feature gardens and has generated a lot of interest and additional business as a result.
