Low Maintenance Front Garden, Shropshire

The Brief
The customer had been trying for years to solve the problem of a very steep slope with a 4' drop on the front garden, making it very difficult for them to maintain.
Our Solution
In order to reduce the severe slope on the garden we built a 9" retaining wall on the low side of the garden. This enabled us to move material from the high areas to the low areas and create a much more subtle slope.
We then divided the garden into three spearate areas to create interest and reduce the amount of lawn to mow.
With one-third we created a figure of 8 turfed area with concrete blocks around the perimeter for easy mowing. With another third, we created a gravelled area with three stone circles of varying sizes to accomodate pots. With the final third we created decorative bed areas for the customer to plant as they required.
