Gravel and Slab Garden Path - Telford, Shropshire
If you dont want a solid garden path in your garden and want to create some nice curved lines, a simple technique is to use a curved gravel path. The blocks or setts either side act as a mowing strip and keep the gravel off the lawn.
Then as an option paving slabs can be cemented at regular intervals to act as stepping stones. You could use the same slab as the patio to tie the patio in with the rest of the garden.

Garden Path of Paving and Brick Edging - Whitchurch, Shropshire
If want want to join patio areas within the garden, this can easily be done using the same paving slabs.
In this example, a curved path was installed and edged with a brindle block to hide the cut edge and provide a low maintenance mowing strip.

Reclaimed Brick Path - Loppington, Shropshire
Here we simply used reclaimed brick in a Herringbone pattern. The colours of the brick can brighten up a small path or patio area.
This technique is often used on listed Georgian or pre-Georgian properties where modern materials cannot be used.
