The Brief
To carry out an extensive phased landscaping project at a listed Georgian property. The garden design, the materials and the techniques used must reflect that of the Goergian era.
Our Solution
Due to the sheer size of the gardens, this project was undertaken in several phases with designs submitted for each phase.
The first job was to restore a fountain to its former glory. The fountain was dismantled, relined and the brick work rebuilt using a lime mortar mix. We then installed a pumping system to pump water evenly to the two bowls and top fountain. We then landscaped the surrounding area in the style of a Georgian knot garden.
This style of landscaping was expanded upon at the front of the property where we we designed and installed a large circular feature using reclaimed brick to build the raised beds and pathways.
A greenhouse base was then built to accommodate a traditional style timber greenhouse.
We then designed, transported, and installed the free standing bespoke wrought iron gazebo seen below.
A small patio area was installed overlooking the fields using old pieces of sandstone for the patio and sandstone block for the edging.
Finally we built some raised vegetable beds out of pressure treated sleeper, as well as a small composting area and a small log store.
Shortly after the project was completed the customer had a letter from the local civic society praising the transformation.
