Traditional Driveway Setts - Bayston Hill, Shropshire
A small drive such as this can be completely transformed in a few of days.
The old tarmac drive was taken away and hardcore brought in to form a solid surface.
These Wyresdale Abbey setts are 50mm deep and perfect for driveways.
The setts are laid on sharp sand and then comapacted down to prevent further movement. Kiln dried sand is brushed in to lock the setts.
These are very hard-wearing setts and unlike some modern clay blocks, they do not easily break.

Traditional Driveway Setts - Childs Ercall, Shropshire
This small drive utilises the Wyresdale Abbey range of setts. These setts are available in three different sizes and are normally laid randomly parallel with the house.
The colour shown here is Wyresdale Abbey Rustic which is now the most popular colour.
The Wyresdale Abbey setts are larger than the Bradstone Wobourn Rumbled range and the colours are not as bright. Note the brighter colour when the drive is wet.
Photo do not do justice to these setts. If you are interested in a quote we can bring some samples over for your perusal.

Traditional Driveway Setts - Telford, Shropshire
This small drive was laid using Bradstone Wobourn Rumbled setts in the autumn colour.
These photos were taking in the rain so the blocks do show more colour than they normally would.
Note the addition of LED lights fixed into the charcoal kerbs.

Traditional Driveway - Wem, Shropshire
This large drive in Wem needed to be in keeping with the building and surrounding area, so Bradstone setts were used.
The autumn colour was used here and note the difference between the wet and dry areas in the second photo.
Rather than using modern concrete kerbs, we used sandstone blocks to retain the bed from the drive.

Traditional Drive - Whitchurch, Shropshire
This period property in Penley between Whitchurch and Ellesmere is one of the oldest houses in Shropshire. The prime criteria from the customer was that the new driveway must be in keeping with the look of the property.
We decided to use Bradstone Woburn Rumbled setts. These are available in three different sizes and look fantastic. We used the Autumn colour to match in with the brickwork of the property.
Rather than using conventional modern kerbs, we used large recycled granite blocks to match in with the granite used around the property.
The result was a new 160 square metre drive that did not look new and complemented the property perfectly.
